January came & went. The days are long & hopes of tomorrow just linger while the weeks speed on by. It’s rather strange & doesn’t make any sort of sense to me but it just happens. It turned out to be a rather eventful month, as you can tell by the dual-disc playlist. Rather interesting though—I was looking through my old playlists & this is the first really eventful January that has even made it to dual-disc status. Interesting. And as silly as this may sound, my favorite moment this January was listening to Salem in Salem. lol.
Also, i know i never posted the November & December playlists but those are perhaps better left unpublished as they turned out to be far too personal to share or to be reminded about. Que sera, sera.

___________________________________________________________ i’ve read with every broken heart we should become more adventurous…
my senior year of high school, i made these valentines using magazine cut-outs pasted on brown paper bags and quoted my favorite song lyrics of the time . i made this particular one for a boy i was mad crushin’ on but i never gave it to him. i dunno why but i had a sort of attachment to it. (i later made it my background/header thing on my LJ).
i’m bringin out the nostalgia today. haha. i was just reminded of those high school years today when i was taking a wild nothing break (rare i know!) on my drive to school and switched it out for some random purple cd i found in my car titled “post modern girls”. it turned out to be a playlist from 2006, i don’t know what month precisely but you get the point, it was fuckin old. 5 years ago i sat down and put all of my feelings in a playlist. ive been getting kind of lazy with my monthly playlists lately, but this just reminded me why i do them. so i can remember exactly what i was feeling at that period in time. whether good or bad feelings, i still want to remember. that’s probably my biggest weakness, nostalgia.

august always just comes and goes. If there’s an emotionally cataclysmic month, it’s definitely august. I really hate august. It always reminds me that summer is ending and all my days of oversleeping will soon be terminated for the new school year. thankfully, this is the last august that will ever happen. at least for a little while. also, august always reminds me of someone and as much you don’t want to, you’re always left wondering, because the kid in you will never let it go, so that explains why i always put Rilo Kiley’s August in the August mix. it means everything and nothing all at once now.
